The main question of the article is, what was the pattern of Iran and Russia's economic diplomacy during the years 2012 to 2020 due to the sanctions policies of the United States? Therefore, the hypothesis of the article is that the sanctions approach of the West and especially the United States towards Iran has led to the expansion of Iran's economic relations with Russia. The results of the research show that policies based on sanctions and pressure from the West have led to the foreign policy of c. A. From the beginning of the revolution, Iran should be designed based on looking to the East in different dimensions. This has more or less continued in Rouhani's government. The analysis of the data shows that this policy in the economic dimension is based on Iran's dependence on economic imports from Russia, rather than having a balance. Western policies have been implemented. This article, relying on the analytical-descriptive method and using library resources and using the conceptual framework of economic diplomacy, sought to answer the main question. این مقاله به تاثیر تحریم‌های امریکا بر دیپلماسی اقتصادی ایران در قبال روسیه، به عنوان یکی از بازیگران اصلی صحنه سیاست بین‌الملی خواهد پرداخت. سؤال اصلی مقاله این است که  با توجه سیاست‌های تحریمی آمریکا طی سال های 2012 تا 2020 دیپلماسی اقتصادی ایران و روسیه دارای چه الگویی بوده است؟ براین اساس فرضیه مقاله این است که رویکرد تحریمی غرب و بخصوص آمریکا در قبال ایران باعث گسترش روابط اقتصادی ایران با روسیه شده است. نتایج تحقیق نشان می دهد که سیاست‌های مبتنی بر تحریم و فشار غرب موجب شده تا سیاست خارجی ج. ا. ایران از ابتدای انقلاب مبتنی بر نگاه به شرق در ابعاد مختلف طراحی شود. این امر در دولت روحانی نیز کمابیش ادامه پیدا کرده است. بررسی داده‌ها نشان می دهد که این سیاست در بعد اقتصادی بیش از آنکه دارای موازنه باشد مبتنی بر وابستگی ایران به واردات اقتصادی، از روسیه  بوده است از نظر ژئواکونومیکی دو کشور طرح های موازنه بخشی بویژه در حوزه انرژی و در دریای خزر و اورآسیا در مقابل سیاست‌های غرب به اجرا رسانده‌اند. این مقاله، با تکیه بر روش توصیفی_ تحلیلی و بهره گیری از منابع کتابخانه ای و با استفاده از چارچوب مفهومی دیپلماسی اقتصادی در پی پاسخ به سوال اصلی بوده است. https://www.rahyaftjournal.ir/article_164920_ed2dca463268c3445c80f4bf0c53a6ab.pdf
