Abstract
The purpose of this article is to investigate the effect of political participation on Iran's national security in the period from 1997 to 2005. The two categories of national security and political participation are important topics that have attracted the attention of all governments. Today, national security is one of the undeniable necessities of human life. In the legal system of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the issue of national security is one of the basic necessities of the country's legal system. Therefore, various criteria have been predicted in connection with the realization of national security, and one of these criteria is the use of political participation. The main question of the research is, what effect did political participation have on Iran's national security from June 1376 to July 1384? The main hypothesis of the article is that during the period of reforms, paying attention to the indicators of political participation, including the freedom of parties, associations, classes, and the formation of appropriate behavior of the society in the conduct of council elections and their realization, in the consistency and strength of the political system, will increase national security. resulted in. The research results show that one of the most effective factors in establishing national security is participation in various national scenes. Political participation and paying attention to its components is actually a manifestation of the legitimacy of governance and a guarantor of its stability and security, because political participation can be used as the most suitable support for solving political-social and security problems and crises, something that the government Based on the June 2016 elections, according to the components of political participation, political participation mechanisms will guarantee national security in internal and external dimensions. The present research method is descriptive-analytical, which has collected information through the study of documentary and library sources.
